The Banyan tree is the National Tree of India! It can live for hundreds of years and grows huge aerial roots that drop down from its branches and enter the ground to become new trunks.

Yesterday I saw a fowler in the forest.

কালি মই হাবিখনত এজন চৰাই চিকাৰী দেখিছিলোঁ।

He was laying a net on the ground near me to trap birds.

তেওঁ চৰাই ধৰিবলৈ মোৰ ওচৰতে মাটিত এখন জাল পাতি আছিল।

He also sprinkled some seeds on the net.

তেওঁ জালখনৰ ওপৰত কিছুমান গুটিও ছটিয়াই দিছিল।

I was very worried.

মই বৰ চিন্তিত হৈ পৰিছিলোঁ।

I wished no bird would come near the trap.

মই কামনা কৰিছিলোঁ যাতে কোনো চৰাই ফান্দটোৰ ওচৰলৈ নাহে।

I love the birds that take rest on my branches.

মোৰ ডালত জিৰণি লোৱা চৰাইবোৰক মই বহুত ভাল পাওঁ।

Some of them even build nests here.

সিহঁতৰ কিছুমানে আনকি ইয়াত বাহো সাজে।

I see them laying eggs and hatch them.

মই সিহঁতক কণী পৰা আৰু কণী উমনি দিয়া দেখিবলৈ পাওঁ।

When the little chicks come out of the eggs they look so cute!

যেতিয়া কণীৰ পৰা সৰু পোৱালিবোৰ ওলাই আহে, সিহঁতক বৰ মৰমলগা দেখি!

I see them growing up and then fly away one day.

মই সিহঁতক ডাঙৰ হোৱা আৰু এদিন উৰি যোৱা দেখিবলৈ পাওঁ।

They are just like my own children.

সিহঁত একেবাৰে মোৰ নিজৰ সন্তানৰ দৰে।

I could not sleep last night.

যোৱা ৰাতি মই শুব পৰা নাছিলোঁ।

I was very much worried about the safety of the birds.

চৰাইবোৰৰ নিৰাপত্তাক লৈ মই বৰ চিন্তিত হৈ আছিলোঁ।

I know every morning they come in search of food.

মই জানো যে প্ৰতি ৰাতিপুৱা সিহঁত খাদ্যৰ সন্ধানত আহে।

If they see those seeds in the trap they will go there to eat and will be trapped in the net.

যদি সিহঁতে ফান্দত সেই গুটিবোৰ দেখে, তেন্তে সিহঁত তালৈ খাবলৈ যাব আৰু জালত আৱদ্ধ হ'ব।

But today something interesting happened.

কিন্তু আজি এক আমোদজনক ঘটনা ঘটিল।

In the morning I saw a flock of birds that came to eat the seeds and they were trapped in the net.

ৰাতিপুৱা মই এযাক চৰাই গুটি খাবলৈ অহা দেখিলোঁ আৰু সিহঁত জালত আৱদ্ধ হ'ল।

I felt helpless to see them trying to come out of the net in vain.

সিহঁতে জালৰ পৰা ওলাই আহিবলৈ বৃথা চেষ্টা কৰা দেখি মই অসহায় অনুভৱ কৰিলোঁ।

Suddenly I noticed the eldest bird in the group ordering the others to stop flapping their wings and to be silent.

হঠাতে মই মন কৰিলোঁ যে জাকটোৰ আটাইতকৈ বয়সীয়া চৰাইটোৱে আনবোৰক ডেউকা কোবোৱা বন্ধ কৰিবলৈ আৰু নীৰৱ হ'বলৈ নিৰ্দেশ দিছে।

He said, "Listen to me. We are in danger.

সি ক'লে, "মোৰ কথা শুনা। আমি বিপদত পৰিছোঁ।

The fowler may come in no time.

চিকাৰীজন যিকোনো মুহূৰ্ততে আহি পাব পাৰে।

So we must try to be free without wasting time.

If we can fly away to our friend mouse before the fowler comes, we will be saved.

Our friend mouse will definitely cut the net and make us free."

All the birds agreed to do as the eldest bird had said.

Thus, the flock of birds flew away. I was so happy!

এইদৰেই, চৰাইৰ জাকটো উৰি গ'ল। মই বহুত সুখী হৈছিলোঁ!

These little birds taught me a lesson today.

এই সৰু চৰাইবোৰে আজি মোক এটা শিক্ষা দিলে।

We should not lose heart in our difficult times and should always try to be together and help one another.
