The story of Robinson Crusoe, written by Daniel Defoe in 1719, is actually based on the real-life experiences of a Scottish sailor named Alexander Selkirk, who lived alone on a deserted island for over 4 years!

📖 Quick Chapter Summary

This exciting story is about an English sailor named Robinson Crusoe. His ship gets destroyed in a terrible storm, and he is the only survivor, washing up on a lonely, unknown island. For years, he lives completely alone, building a house, growing food, and taming animals to survive. One day, he saves a man from savage attackers and names him 'Friday' because he rescued him on that day. Friday becomes his loyal companion. Finally, after living on the island for over 28 years, Crusoe and Friday manage to escape back to England on a passing English ship.
