Did You Know? (āĻ•িāĻŦা āϜাāύাāύে?)

During the monsoon season, parts of the Kaziranga National Park get severely flooded. While this flood is necessary for the ecosystem, many animal welfare organizations and local people work day and night to rescue the trapped animals, just like Barun's team did in the story!

📖 Quick Chapter Summary

This lesson is about Barun, an eighteen-year-old nature lover who founded an organization called 'Animal Lovers' to care for distressed animals and birds. His team rescues strays, provides them with food and medicine, and quenches their thirst during summers. During a severe flood in Assam, his organization did an incredible job rescuing rhino calves and injured hog deer in Kaziranga. They also conduct awareness campaigns to train local communities on how to handle animals during emergencies. Because of their impressive work, 'Animal Lovers' receives support and donations from organizations like the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI).

4. Grammar and Usage (Pronouns & Future Time)

A. Pronoun (āϏ⧰্āĻŦāύাāĻŽ)

A pronoun is a word used instead of a noun.
(āϝি āĻļāĻŦ্āĻĻ āĻŦিāĻļেāώ্āϝ⧰ āϏāϞāύি āĻŦ্āĻ¯ā§ąāĻšাā§° āϕ⧰া āĻšāϝ়, āϤাāĻ• āϏ⧰্āĻŦāύাāĻŽ āĻŦোāϞে।)

Different forms of personal pronouns with examples:

2. Reflexive Pronouns

When the subject or the object refers to the same person or thing, we use reflexive pronouns.

(āϝেāϤিāϝ়া āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝ⧰ subject (āϕ⧰্āϤা) āφ⧰ু object (āϕ⧰্āĻŽ) āĻāĻ•েāϜāύ āĻŦ্āϝāĻ•্āϤি āĻŦা āĻŦāϏ্āϤুāĻ•ে āĻŦুāϜাāϝ়, āϤেāϤিāϝ়া āφāĻŽি reflexive pronoun āĻŦ্āĻ¯ā§ąāĻšাā§° āϕ⧰োঁ।)

Singular:
  • I → Myself
  • You → Yourself
  • He → Himself
  • She → Herself
  • It → Itself
Plural:
  • We → Ourselves
  • You → Yourselves
  • They → Themselves
Future Time (āĻā§ąিāώ্āϝāϤ āĻ•াāϞ)

To talk about what we think or believe will happen in the future.

Examples:
i) He will go to school every day.
ii) I think India will win the match.

To talk about an instant decision.

Examples:
i) It is raining. I will close the window.
ii) I am hungry. I will eat these bananas.

We use the 'going to' form ('be' verb + going to + base form of the verb) when we have already decided to do something.

Examples:
i) He is going to buy a motorbike.
ii) Mr Saikia is going to resign from the job.

Note: We do not use the 'going to' form for the simple future tense as the simple future tense (will, shall + verb) is used for an instant decision whereas 'going to' form is used for an action which is decided upon and preparations have been already made.

When there is something certain at the present moment which tells us about the future, we use the 'going to' form.

Examples:
i) The child is going to cry; look at its trembling lips.
ii) It is going to rain; look at those clouds.

Dear Rahul,

How are you? I am writing this letter to give you some good news. Last week, a state-level debate competition was held in our school.

Many students from different schools took part in it. The topic was "Technology". Our school team performed very well and won the second prize. The chief guest gave a very good speech and praised all the students. It was a great learning experience for me.

Give my regards to uncle and aunt.

Your loving cousin,

Dear Uncle,

I hope you and aunt are doing well. I am writing to tell you about my recent trip to the Orang National Park.

Last Sunday, I went there with my parents. We went on a jeep safari early in the morning. We saw many wild animals like the one-horned rhino, elephants, and wild buffaloes. We also saw many colourful birds. The park was very beautiful and peaceful. I clicked many photos and will show them to you when we meet.

Hope to see you soon.

Yours lovingly,
